Goodwill Tour 2013

giving back

Not good days

Mornings are rarely easy and are harder for some. She was eating with an older friend and her teenage son, and it was not a good day, possibly at the end of a long string of not good days.

Her friend was cheery but operationally challenged in the Days Inn breakfast area — how to get the waffle out of the waffle iron, where to find sugar, etc. Jay was charmed.

Her first smile of the morning came when asked if she wouldn’t mind giving an envelope to her friend. Hopefully the string of not good days was broken.

Jay really loved this woman! I wasn’t feeling the love after I spilled my bagel and cream cheese all over my lap.
